Anti-SS-A 52
Anti-SS-A 52 is an ELISA-based, automated, in-vitro test system for the quantitative determination of IgG antibodies against SS-A 52 in human serum or plasma.
This test is used for the differential diagnosis and monitoring of systemic rheumatic inflammatory autoimmune diseases.
Autoantibodies against SS-A 52 are primarily found in patients with collagenoses, especially those with Sjögren’s syndrome and various forms of Lupus erythematosus. Autoantibodies against the SS-A 52 proteins are specific to Sjögren’s syndrome, though they are less specific than SS-A 60 antibodies. In cases of myositis, anti-SS-A 52 are found together with other myositis-specific antibodies such as Anti-SRP, Anti-PM-SCl, or antibodies against aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase. In these patients, there is no connection to Sjögren’s syndrome.
